Abstract

Justification: The integration of generative artificial intelligence into higher education has created opportunities to enhance teaching planning, material development, learning, and assessment, but has also raised concerns regarding academic integrity, data protection, transparency, and teacher training. Objective: To propose an ethical-pedagogical framework to guide the responsible integration of generative artificial intelligence into educational processes at public universities in Santo Domingo during 2026. Methodology: A qualitative approach, non-experimental design, and descriptive-propositional scope were adopted, applying legal-doctrinal, analytical, descriptive, documentary, and deductive methods through documentary analysis. Results: The documentary analysis revealed that the educational integration of generative artificial intelligence required institutional principles related to transparency, accountability, data protection, teacher training, disclosure of its use, and verification of generated content, along with changes in assessment practices aimed at preserving student authorship and strengthening knowledge acquisition. Conclusion: Educational uses, risks, and criteria related to transparency, teacher training, human oversight, academic integrity, learning assessment, and data protection were identified.
